Mohamed Al BarwaniChairman

Dr. Mohamed Al Barwani is founder and Chairman of MB Holding group of companies. He has investments in various companies with interests in oil & gas, mining, engineering, financial services and real estate and on the board of a number of publicly traded and joint stock companies, including Oman Air, Al Madina Insurance Co. SAOG, Al Madina Investments SAOG (Muscat Stock Market), and Nautilus Minerals Inc (Toronto Stock Exchange). Dr. Barwani was formerly a non-executive director of National Bank of Oman, Shell Oman Marketing Company and Taageer Leasing Company, Oman.
 
He is also the President of the Oman American Business Centre, which promotes the economic and trade ties between the two nations as well as the member of the Sea-keepers International, a group dedicated to the protection of the Ocean’s eco-systems and its environment.
 
Dr. Barwani was honored with a Lifetime Achievement award by the Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal magazine (2008) and selected by Ernst & Young as a Global Entrepreneur representing Oman in 2012. He was conferred “COMMANDEUR IN DE ORDE VAN ORANGE-NASSAU” by Her Majesty the Queen of The Netherlands in January 2012. He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland in March 2014.

USAMA AL BARWANICHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

 

Mr. Barwani is the Chief Executive Officer of Petrogas E&P, a privately held upstream producer in the Middle East with producing oil and gas assets in Oman, the Netherlands, and Egypt as well as the shareholder of MB Holding Co, a family-controlled conglomerate which operates across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa in Oil & Gas, Engineering, and Tourism
 
He is a member of the board of Bahrain based Arcapita Bank, a Bahrain based Islamic Merchant Bank and Private Equity Company, the Member of the Board of Directors Dutch based Oceanco Yachts which is one of the world’s leading super yacht builders. Mr. Usama is the Director of National Takaful Company PSC, Watania as well as Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (GNH) and its group of companies own and operate chemical tankers, the only maritime and shipping company listed on the Dubai Financial Market. In addition, He is the Honorary council of Uganda in Oman and a member of the Oman-France Chamber of Commerce
 
A member of YPO since 2009, Mr. Barwani holds a BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma and an MSc degree in Energy, Trade, and Finance from City University’s Cass Business School in London and a graduate of the ‘President Leadership program’ from Harvard Business School through the YPO Harvard Program.

AZHAR AL KINDICHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Azhar Al Kindi started working for Petrogas E&P in July 2012 as Deputy Chief Operating Officer, then took over the role of a Chief Operating Officer a year later. He worked on numerous Omani oil & gas fields, with varying maturity, early in his career, with PDO. He then moved to Shell Oil in Louisiana, US, to look after the (re)development of deep water, Gulf of Mexico, fields. This was followed by an assignment in Texas, US, to work on the Alaskan heavy oil prospects. He then moved on to manage various Petroleum Engineering activities for Shell in Australia, spanning from deep water offshore Western Australia to onshore unconventional development in Queensland. During his tenure with Shell, Azhar also represented Shell on environmental initiatives, especially those related to Green House Emission, and participated, as a board member, in managing Shell’s investment in joint research ventures.

Azhar holds a BSc in Physics from Durham University (UK), and has received executive leadership training at various schools throughout his long international career. Azhar has published numerous technical papers and is active in industry-wide societies and forums.

KINGSUK SENCHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

Kingsuk completed his Petroleum engineering (Bachelor of Technology) from Indian School of Mines, India in 1995. Since then he has worked in various oil & gas companies in the private and public sector in India and had hands on experience in Petroleum engineering, project management, business analysis, planning and economics and new business development.
Kingsuk joined Petrogas E&P in 2007 and was responsible for business analysis, planning and economics for Petrogas E&P and its subsidiaries. Over the years he developed strong knowledge of Corporate Finance and deep understanding of Petrogas’ assets and businesses and assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer in 2012. The position is responsible for overall supervision of business analysis, corporate planning, corporate governance, finance and accounts functions. Also, as a part of the top management team, Kingsuk is responsible for company`s strategy and policies, and ensuring its implementation.

In December 2013, Kingsuk completed his Global Executive MBA from INSEAD and won the Claude Janssen Prize for scoring the highest GPA globally, across all sections.
As from November 2014, Kingsuk was appointed as the Chief commercial officer and Vice President (Europe) to oversee Petrogas’ interest in the Netherlands and new business development, on top of his corporate and senior management responsibilities.

STEVE DAINESCHIEF EXPLORATION OFFICER

Steve Daines is the Chief Exploration Officer of Petrogas E&P. Joining in May 2017, he has previously held roles in exploration with increasing responsibility in Maersk Oil, Kerr-McGee, Conoco and Exlog in many international locations over the last four decades. These ranged from operational, through  technical, leadership and executive levels during which he was involved in adding a substantial number of new commercial discoveries and creating substantial value. He is based in Muscat.
 
He holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Liverpool, and has participated in the London Business School of Economics Accelerated Development Programme, Michigan State Supply Chain Executive Programme, Thunderbird School of Global Management Leadership Programme, and Harvard Business School’s World Class Leadership Programme.


YASSER THABIT AL MUGHAIRICHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

Yasser Al Mughairi, is the PG Group - Chief HR Officer and a member of the Petrogas group top Executive committee since September 2017, overseeing HR, IT & Admin. He served as Corporate HR GM for MBPS since 2011 until his appointment as the GM-HR of PG group in February 2015. Yasser has over 29 years of relevant experiences from PDO & OLNG.

Yasser possess EDSML (Executive Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership), UK based qualification awarded by CMI (Chartered Management Institute) MBA level, and has achieved the professional Human Resources qualification (CIPD) from the Chartered Institute of Personal Development - UK.

In addition to other academic credentials, Yasser has also been awarded the title of ‘Chartered Manager’ by the Chartered Management Institute – UK, & currently finalizing the CME at Harvard University Business School executive education.
